THE PIGS

Our pigs live the best life; enjoying what pigs do best: sunbathing, eating, digging, foraging, wallowing and tummy rubs. Our Oxford Sandy & Black gilts (young ladies) are free range enjoying making wallows by the stream and sunbathing on the granite rocks in their field. When needed we put our pigs to work turning over our veg patches and using them for conservation grazing around the farm.

Our pigs are fed on local Barley/Wheat, Sugar beet and peas, so we know exactly what goes in them. They rather enjoy a spot of Jersey milk too. We don't feed pig nuts, they have no GM or soya at all and because of this (and their active lifestyle) they grow slowly, happy and healthy. Which makes the best pork.

We have a mixture of different breeds but hope to breed from two of our Oxford Sandy & Blacks when they are old enough. Then we will be self sufficient in pigs! We source all our weaners as locally as possible, and when the time comes to say goodbye they go to our local abattoir, and then on to our local award winning Butcher: Cox and Laflin before returning to the farm ready to head straight out to your door. Keeping your food miles as low as possible.
