We have two flocks of chickens here on the farm.

The first are our free range laying chickens who supply us with beautiful fresh eggs. Included in them is Beryl our fluffy footed pet hen, the only one with a name!

In our poultry tunnel we have our young chickens, some for meat and others to sell as point of lay.

They live in our poultry tunnel which we move everyday on to fresh grass. As they move around the fields they help to scarify the grass, keep the parasites down and manure it as they go feeding the soil and replacing nitrogen. The poultry tunnel keeps them safe from predators and has so far seen off both Foxes and Goshawk alike.

They enjoy life and spend the day scratching in the grass for bugs and watching the cows and sheep mooching past. Truly pasture raised chickens!
